Fortunes Through the Years
I was cleaning my office today—something I haven't done in over 2 years (sigh)— and came across a bunch of fortunes from fortune cookies that I have apparently been saving for a rainy day.
I decided it would be better to record them here digitally and toss the little slips of paper. So, here are some fortunes that I have received in the past from the great soothsayers of our times: fortune cookies!
1. A thrilling time is in your immediate future
2. You will be successful through innovation and determination
3. You will enjoy good health and financial independence
4. You will attract cultured and artistic people to your home
5. You have great physical powers and an iron constitution
With respect to 1: I, unfortunately, don't remember if that one came true. (Sad, I know.)
With respect to 2: I think my record speaks for itself.
With respect to 3: I'm still waiting for the latter to come true.
With respect to 4: All of my friends and family are cultured and artistic, so this wasn't much of a fortune.
With respect to 5: Sometimes these fortunes get a little personal.
Enjoy!

I am very superstitious about my fortunes- have them all over the place- sock drawer, desk, backpacks. One of my cardinal rules is that the entire fortune cookie must be eaten before the fortune can be read, or else it won't "come true". Sort of the price one has to pay- eat a piece of cardboard for your fortune...
